1987 Ronald Reagan Official White House Photograph Signed Up for sale an original hand signed White House photograph of President Ronald Reagan on Kodak paper, inscribed To Mel Lerman with best wishes. Color photograph, measures 8 x 10. Stamped on verso as Official White House Photograph 02 Oct 87 C42836-05, framed in original metal frame as found. Photograph in very good condition. About the Photograph This picture was given to Miles Lerman (January 6, 1920 January 22, 2008) who was invited to the ceremony. Mel was an American activist and Holocaust survivor, he helped plan and create the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, D.C. The picture was taken on October 2, 1987 on Signing the German-American Day Proclamation. The President spoke at 1:24 p.m. in the Rose Garden at the White House. In his opening remarks, he referred to West German President Philip Jenninger; Guenther van Well, West German Ambassador to the United States; and Senator Richard G. Lugar of Indiana, all them are in the photograph. The President also referred to Mrs. Reagan, who watched the ceremony from a window in the residence also present a music band in costume.
