VINTAGE COLLECTIVE PRESIDENTIAL SPOON HERBERT HOOVER, W M ROGERS CO. Spoon is in good condition. Front: Face of Hoover and his name down the handle. In well of spoon, the engraved image depicts the progress of aviation and reads: PROGRESS OF AVIATION. The writing and image is clear. It shows a few tiny dots of tarnish that can be cleaned. Please see photos. Back of spoon reads: W M ROGERS MFG CO, and IS. The IS stands for "International Silver" which was a collective group of silverware manufacturers in 1898. There were 14 companies that formed the group, and Rogers Brothers is known as being one of the largest. Most Rogers IS silverware is known to be silver-plate. I have other Presidential spoons listed on Ebay: Benjamin Harrison, Andrew Johnson, Ulysses S. Grant, Woodrow Wilson, Zachary Taylor, William Howard Taft and John Adams.
