USS Houston Franklin Roosevelt Presidential Cruise Book WW2 Navy Archive FDR
Extremely rare material from the 1934 and 1934 FDR cruises on the Houston. Archive of Naval Officer Jack E Dickson from the 1930s through service in WW2 We retired as LT commander. Vessels include the Houston Selfridge and Metcalf. The main scrapbook includes the very rare 1934 USS Houston presidential cruise book. It is glued in clumsily - see condition in photos. This book is scarce. There is also various ephemera from this and the 1935 FDR cruise Some pieces are clipped and some are glued in as printed. Menus , notices etc. The b/w scrapbook has some great images from Hawaii and also family shots. There is one photo of Dickson by Carl Mayden Also some Intersting California photos. The 3rd scrapbook is mostly letters from his father in law with some references to the WAVES- which his wife Jean Dickson served in. Other items include a hand made address book with photos of the metcalf crew. About 30 entries with contacts / photos Loose photos- of ww2 many labeled. Some Philippines. Handful of ID Cards. Great period look at these ships- with a very rare group from 1934-5 presidential cruises on the USS Houston Great archive. Other navy material listed. Shipped priority insured.
