SCARCE! Early 1866 Martha Washington Trade Card ~ Simonds & Co Hair Restorer
Here is a scarce, original trade card that promotes Martha Washington Hair Restorer by Simonds & Co. of Fitzwilliam, NH. It is printed in black & white on light card stock and measures approx. 2 1/2" by 4". On the front bottom appears the date 1866 while the reverse has the advertising info with this: This picture was taken from an original copy painted more than a hundred years ago by Woolaston and which now hangs in the Arlington House in Virginia. The condition overall is very good for its age with intact corners (although the top left does have a small tear), some worn areas on her dress and some foxing spots in evidence.
