SCANDAL: Warren Harding, Nan Britton, and Daughter: 1927 Signed Book and Archive
PRESIDENT WARREN G. HARDING, NAN BRITTON, AND DAUGHTER: SIGNED 1927 TELL ALL BOOK and ARCHIVE This archive was acquired from the estate of a collector (Colonel Louis B. Schlosser) who was in direct contact with Nan Britton during her life and so was able to acquire two rare signatures: hers and that of the daughter she had by Harding in 1919, Elizabeth Blaesing. Nan Britton was the mistress of President Harding while he was in office as a senator and president, but was spurned by his family upon his death. DNA testing in 2015 confirmed that Harding was indeed the father of her child. Archive includes:Nan Britton's autobiography, The President's Daughter, in which she exposed that Harding had fathered a child with her. First edition, published 1927 by the Elizabeth Ann Guild. Black cloth with gilt titling, overall very good, toning to endpapers and hinges tender With tipped in signatures of Britton and daughter Elizabeth Blaesing on cards addressed to Schlosser (1964), plus a clipped 1899 signature of Warren G. Harding.
