RARE STERLING JFK MEDAL, POST INAUGERATION (APRIL 28, 1961), PRE NOV 1963, DEATH
Rare JFK Sterling Silver Medal, dated, April 28 1961, which did NOT commemorate his Inauguration, or his term in office, or his death. This is a Medal commissioned by Richard J Daley, Chairman of the Cook County Democrat Party, and Mayor of Chicago at the time. It was Daley who got out the vote in Chicago so that JFK carried Illinois, thus defeating Richard. M Nixon by a narrow margin in the Electoral College in the 1960 Presidential Election. This Medal was commissioned 3 months after JFK'S Inauguration, for a RECEPTION & DINNER, on April 28, 1961, thus becoming the rarest of all the hundreds, yea thousands, of JFK Medals ever made and released during his lifetime in the USA.
