President MILLARD FILLMORE State of the Union Annual Address 1852 U.S. Newspaper Offered is an original, collectible newspaper (NOT a copy/reproduction): DAILY NATIONAL INTELLIGENCER, Washington, D.C., Dec. 7, 1852 * President Millard Fillmore * State of the Union Address Nearly the entirety of page 2 is taken up with the: "President's Message" being the annual state-of-the-union address signed in type by: Millard Fillmore. Within the address Fillmore notes: "...Besides affording to our own citizens a degree of prosperity of which on so large a scale I know of no other instance, our country is annually affording a refuge and a home to multitudes, altogether without example, from the Old World. We owe these blessings, under Heaven, to the happy Constitution and Government which were bequeathed to us by our fathers, and which it is our sacred duty to transmit in all their integrity to our children...". This address was given just the day prior. Page 3 has a lengthy editorial on: "The President's Message", as well as an article beginning: "The sea serpent has again been seen!..." with details.
