Original Vintage Photograph of John Kennedy Bust by Sculptor Robert Berks
This is a very rare original photo of the iconic world-famous huge bust of President John F. Kennedy by American sculptor Robert Berks, presiding over the Grand Foyer of the Kennedy Center in Washington. Photographer unknown. The monumental eight-foot, 3000 pound head sculpture of President Kennedy was dedicated in 1971 at the opening of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and is the visual symbol of the nation's living memorial to the late president. The original gold tone vintage frame measuring 16 x 20 inches was made in Belgium exclusively for Charles D. Burnes of Boston. The non-glare covering over the photograph diminishes the brightness and vibrancy of the piece that I was able to capture in the photos posted. The photograph of the Kennedy Bust appears to be attached to a matted backing by some kind of thin gold colored tape. The green matting shows some sign of age and a bit of streaked fading in places, but the photos posted reflect exactly the way the camera sees it.
