Black and white portrait photograph of John F. Kennedy as President. Measuring 8" x 10", ca. 1961, [Washington, D.C.]. This image, originally captured by Cecil W. Stoughton, was taken while Kennedy was addressing the nation from the Oval Office during the Berlin Crisis on July 25th, 1961. The Crisis began in June 1961 when Soviet Premier Nikita Khrushchev, meeting with Kennedy at the Vienna summit, reissued an ultimatum that demanded the withdrawal of all armed forces from Berlin. Exhibits minor surface imperfections, overall fine. Encapsulated by PSA to the overall size of 9.75" x 13.25", receiving a designation of type I.
