George Washington 1889 Inauguration Centennial Equestrian Medal, Musante GW 1104
I have for sale an 1889 medal that commemorates the centennial anniversary of the inauguration of President George Washington that took place in New York City. The medal is made of white metal, it is 1 3/4 inches in diameter and in uncirculated condition with a hole at the top rim, that is not unusual to this medal. The medal was made by Edward A. Kretschman of Philadelphia. The medal obverse shows the civilian bust of GEORGE WASHINGTON with his name at the rim. On the medal reverse, inside a wreath, it shows Washington on horseback with his arm extended forward. Behind the horse it shows a medallion with the state arms of New York and in front of the horse it shows a medallion with the arms of the City of New York. At the top rim it reads CENTENNIAL INAUGURATION & at the bottom rim it reads NEW YORK APRIL 30, 1889. Please see more in my EBAY STORE at TE Collectables. (18,641 NRR)
