This is one of many more Harding stereo cards we have for sale in our eBay store. In 1923, President Warren G. Harding started to feel the heat in Washington, D.C., politically, over scandalous Teapot Dome issues as well as by the mean temperature. So, he and his wife and various cabinet members planned an extensive trip to take his and the press's minds off problems. A large set of stereo view cards was the result which have become quite desirable among collectors since they show so many interesting snapshots of people, places and things which he experienced. The party headed out west across the plains then clear up to Alaska and back down through Washington, Oregon to California, where Harding died on August 2 at a hotel in San Francisco, shocking the nation. This Keystone View Company card shows the president with his wife and members of that travelling party in front of a large, Native American totem pole at Sitka, Alaska. Notice his Secretary of Commerce, Herbert Hoover, fourth from left, who continued in that job for Calvin Coolidge after Harding's death and then was elected president himself in 1928. This is in nice condition but please look at our images to judge this for yourself so you can be happy with your purchase. We are members of APIC and sell only authentic presidential (and other collectible) material so buy with confidence. We'll be happy to combine S & H costs on multiple purchases even though eBay says we won't. We just issue a refund for any overpayment. Shipping on this will be $6.50 carefully packed with tracking in a small box. 9518
