17th U.S. President ANDREW JOHNSON Abraham Lincoln's VP DEATH 1875 Newspaper Offered is an original, historic, & collectible old newspaper: BETHLEHEM DAILY TIMES, Pennsylvania, July 31, 1875 * President Andrew Johnson * Death (1st report) Page 2 has a very brief item headed: "Death of Andrew Johnson" which is datelined "July 31" & reads: "Ex-President Andrew Johnson died very suddenly at Chattanooga, Tenn., at 2:30 o'clock this morning of paralysis." This is immediately followed by a lengthier report headed: "Obituary - Andrew Johnson" which takes over half a column (see). This is a same day report, rarely found as such.
