@ 16" wide by 24" long complete 2- section issue of the April 14, 1945 "Des Moines Register" newspaper from Des Moines, Iowa issued after the sudden death of President Franklin D. Roosevelt. The newspaper features images of Uncle Sam and FDR's casket with the headline: "Sweep Around Leipzig. Grieving Capital Awaits Roosevelt Funeral Train- Truman Course Setting Talk to Congress Monday." on front. The inside is stuffed full of more great photos and stories from back in the day including lots of info on World War II which was still raging. Newspaper has the wear expected and consistent with the brittle nature and age / normal use of this item and has been folded and the original owner has neatly cut out a story on the SECOND section (but it does not detract) How many of these survived? ORIGINAL, Not a reproduction!.
