Love him or hate him, Richard Nixon was a major player on this country's political stage from when he entered Congress in 1946 until he resigned the presidency in August of 1974. Problem was, many on the left simply loved to hate him. Tricky Dick actually did himself in over the Watergate mess while he ran for re-election in 1972 and the year-and-a-half after he was sworn in again. After he lost the presidency to John F. Kennedy in 1960 in a real squeaker, Nixon took his family back to live in his birth state, California and, by 1962, people had convinced the former, two-term, U.S. Vice-President to run for governor. Problem was he didn't win, losing to Edmund "Pat" Brown. At his concession press conference he implied he was getting out of politics but in six years was nominated again by the Republican Party and beat Hubert Humphrey in another real squeaker. These two litho tabs are from that 1962 gubernatorial race. The state-shaped one is 5/8" wide x 1.5" high; the "Democrats for" example is 1 3/8" across by 7/8" high. How much Nixon for Governor material do you have in your collection? They are in nice shape with typical light surface wear so please look at our images to judge condition yourself so that you can be happy with your purchase. Shipping on this will be $5.50, well protected, first class with tracking. We are members of APIC and sell only authentic presidential (and other collectible) material so buy with confidence.
