Abraham Lincoln Stoneware Bookends
Great pair of stoneware bookends, glazed in a dark rockingham style finish, of Abraham Lincoln, in right profile. Appear to be a one-off, as they are press molded with evidence of finger marks on the reverse. Very heavy, solid buff color clay, they measure 6 1/2” tall x 5” wide at base. Most likely made in the late 19th century, minor wear commensurate with age and use. Prominent ear chip to one, roughness to other ear, along with minor edge chips and manufacturing marks. Definitely not a mass produced factory production. Thanks for looking!
