1960 Richard Nixon First Presidential Campaign, "Nixonette" Sash, Which Was Worn By A Member Of A Group Of Los Angeles Young Women Supporters Who Greeted Richard Nixon At The Los Angeles Airport, And Appeared At All Campaign Events Held In Los Angeles For That First Campaign Stop, And All Following Campaign Visits To Los Angeles. The Nixonettes were created as a Republican answer to the "Kennedyettes" Democrat women For John Kennedy California Campaign events. Acetate, 72-inches long and was to be worn over the shoulder and back, and it's in excellent condition. It was acquired from a friend who as a teenager was a member of the group. She told me that the "Nixonettes" was not a large group, so the sash must be very scarce with few surviving.
