Seller: Alley-Antiques DESCRIPTION: .Victorian Period Accessories. Scarce antique 1860s steel engraving mezzotint print by John Sartain, Philadelphia, after a painting by Wm. Cogswell, Washington, D.C.. The print is titled "Gen Grant and his Family". This was published by Bradley & Co., 66 Nth Fourtn St. ; Rochester, N.Y. : R.H. Curran, c1868. Detailed engraving of General Grant with his wife seated and his 4 children. Very detailed as Sartain was known for using steel engraving and mezzotint to create a richness and depth. Antique. Over 150 years old. Black and White engraving. Paper has toning mostly noticed in areas of margin. Antique frame with wavy glass(both probably original). Backboards removed and acid free backing added. Large, detailed, and displays nicely. Ready to hang. Most of backboard is lacking. Overall with frame measurement about 33" x 27". We usually ship 3 to 7 days after payment clears. We charge a $2.50 handling fee. All items sold as-is where-is. We are only responsible for the item while in our possession. We will not be held responsible for items lost or damaged during shipping. We will pack all items VERY WELL with bubble wrap and peanuts(furniture will be packed by the shipper). In the unlikely event an item is damaged or lost by the mail/shipper we will work with you to help you file your claim, but the settlement will be between you and the carrier.
