Scarce 1840 CANDIDATE OF THE PEOPLE Campaign Token Coin WH Harrison Whig NGC Cu
SUPER-RARE TOKEN please read the description below: The Democratic party had great success promoting their candidate Andrew Jackson through a series of campaign tokens touting his success in the battle of New Orleans, starting with the 1824 election. The Whig party followed suit in 1836 by touting their own candidate's military sucesses with (the very first WH Harrison coin) a Sterling silver plated campaign token. This was the only WH Harrison token minted in silver plate. All others were copper and brass as far as I know (except for a WM Bunker Hill). By 1840, they were producing multiple varieties of copper large-penny sized campaign tokens, and they also gave out copper buttons and button shells, all of which are rare and highly collected. Many of the other varieties of WH Harrison are available on ebay at a range of prices based on their rarity and condition. THIS IS THE ONLY TOKEN OF THIS VARIETY (candidate of the people) ON EBAY. Certified by the Numismatic Guarantee Company NGC (top coin grading service in the industry) Satisfaction guaranteed with 14 day no questions return policy. Buyer pays return shipping. Authenticity guaranteed forever
