An approximately .75" x .25" (20 × 10 mm) piece of the wallpaper from the Petersen House room where Lincoln died, is a photocopied letter of authenticity dated October 1, 1980, from the United States Department of the Interior which states, in part: "Our findings show that your wallpaper sample is authentic and is from the room where Lincoln died... During the 1978 wallpaper research, samples for the room where Lincoln died were delaminated. Upon examination and using documented evidence describing the death room in 1865, we were able to conclude that the bottom layer of wallpaper was present during that tragic event." Encapsulated in plastic, CAG certified. Condition: Very good.
