Milk Glass Lincoln Logs Plaque 1864
This is an opaque white plaque -milk glass- with the likeness of Lincoln molded in high relief. The portrait center is framed with the classic base-relief and criss-cross split rail pattern edge. I could not find any chips to the delicate edges. It is 6 3/4" x 8 1/4". You can find it on page 290 in American Historical Glass by Bessie M. Lindsey. Norma Mourning the nation's loss of President Garfield after his assassination in 1881. Garfield is in the center and inscribed "WE MOURN OUR NATIONS LOSS, BORN NOV 19, 1831. SHOT JULY2, 1881 DIED SEPT 19,1881". The Garfield drape is encircles this. It is 11 1/4" in diameter; there are 3 chips. You can find it on Page 310 in American Historical Glass by Bessie M. Lindsey.
